The Celtics pulled away in Game 2 thanks to a dominant 2-minute span in the third quarter. Boston outscored Dallas 10-0 during that stretch, and the Mavs never recovered.
Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 31 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists. Jaylen Brown added 24 points, and Marcus Smart contributed 18 points.
Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 26 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Spencer Dinwiddie added 19 points, and Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 15 points.
The Celtics' victory gives them their first NBA championship since 2008. It is also the franchise's 18th NBA title, tying them with the Los Angeles Lakers for the most in league history.
